- Engine oils
About the Brand
Shell, one of Europe’s leading motor oil producers, has been operating since 1907. It is a lubricating oil used by all Europeans for more than 1 century, with a composition that fully complies with European standards. With 82,000 employees, Shell produces 3,200,000 barrels of oil products per day. The official representation in Azerbaijan is carried out by RGgroup.
Quality policy
To create lubricants using GTL technology, the company uses natural gas from the largest Severnoye Pole field. Even at the stage of entering the fuel, components such as sulfur, gas condensate and ethane are separated from it. The synthesized product is then obtained from clean natural gas. For this, oxygen is added to it at a temperature of 1500 ° C. The obtained synthesis gas is released into a reactor with highly efficient catalysts, where it is synthesized into long saturated hydrocarbons – paraffins. At the next stage of technology, they undergo hydrocracking. Hydrogen is added to paraffins, then they are broken down and the process of isomerization takes place. Pure hydrocarbons are obtained as a result of synthesis. In this case, depending on the temperature and pressure, different types of fractions can be obtained.
Why Shell?
Such lubricants are created in laboratory conditions by synthesis of chemical compounds from oil and natural gas. Unlike mineral and semi-synthetic products, synthetics improve viscosity and maintain chemical and physical properties at all temperature conditions. Synthetic oils contain special additives that clean the engine and protect it from sludge.
